Beginning on April 7, students across the state will take the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS or CoAlt) which assess what students need to know and be able to do at the end of each grade level according to the Colorado Academic Standards. In grades 3-5, students will take the English Language Arts and Mathematics assessments. Students in grade 5 will also be assessed in Science. In addition, our school was selected by the Colorado Department of Education for grade 4 students to complete the Social Studies assessment this year.
The statewide assessments are designed for all students and are a part of our school accreditation and federal requirements. Make-up tests will be necessary for those absent; therefore, we request that you please try to avoid medical/dental and other appointments from 8:30am-12:30pm on Tuesday - Thursday over the next three weeks.
If you have any questions or concerns about CMAS testing, please reach out to me at [email protected] or 720-520-7670.
Thank you and we are looking forward to another successful year of CMAS at Montview Elementary School.
