Attendance

Attendance Line: 303-326-1632 (call before 8:30 a.m.)

It is important for your children to attend school. It is impossible to make up for the learning and experiences that a child misses when they are absent from school. Therefore we request that students have no more than 10 excused absences in a school year.

If you are unsure whether or not to send your child to school when they are ill, please refer to the "How Sick is Too Sick?" document (available in English and Spanish).

If your child will not be attending school on a particular day, please call the office at 303-364-8549 before 8:30 AM to notify us.

Please note that Colorado law requires children between the ages of 6 and 17 to attend school. Aurora Public Schools' attendance policy states that "Colorado law defines the habitual truant as a student of compulsory attendance age who has 'four unexcused absences in any one month or 10 unexcused absences during any school year.' The teacher or school attendance office shall contact the parents/guardians to discuss issues related to attendance. Excessive excused absences or tardies will also result in parent/guardian contact."
