Dear Montview Families,
Welcome to a new school year at Montview! We are so excited to welcome our students and families back to school. We hope you had a wonderful summer filled with time together. We have missed your students and cannot wait to see them as they return to our classrooms!
At Montview, we believe every child can learn, grow, and achieve great things. This year, one of our biggest goals is helping every student become a confident reader. We know children make the greatest progress when schools and families work together. Reading at home every day makes a huge difference. Talking about books, asking questions, and celebrating your child's progress helps build strong readers and lifelong learners. Together, we can help every child reach their goals.
We invite all families to join us for our Back-to-School Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, August 5, from 3:00–4:30 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your child's teacher, reconnect with friends, and celebrate the start of a new year together. The first day of school for students in Grades 1–5 is Thursday, August 6. This year, our school day will be 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Students will meet on the blacktop each morning before school and again at dismissal so our staff can safely greet and dismiss everyone. For those requiring after-school care, our most trusted partners, the Boys and Girls Club, will once again provide rich activities until 6:00 p.m. every day after school. APS provides bus transportation for students who live within Montview’s boundary lines south of Montview Boulevard. Check out APS Transportation’s bus pick-up and drop-off locations and times here.
Preschool and Kindergarten students will begin school on Monday, August 10. Preschool and Kindergarten families can look forward to additional information in the next few days to help prepare for a successful start.
