Montview Math & Health Sciences Elementary
Message From Principal Stewart
Thank you for coming along on this rollercoaster of a ride this year! We are grateful for your partnership in ensuring children are learning and growing together. Quarter two brings us to a hybrid learning model. This model allows us to decrease the number of students that are in-person in our classrooms. With this model, we split in-person students into two different cohorts (A/B) Students in cohort A attend in-person for one week while students in cohort B attend online synchronously. The next week, the cohorts switch. Each classroom has twelve or less students attending in person. Everyone entering the building is required to wear a mask. Students and staff members are to wear their masks at all times throughout the day. Teachers are allowed to take students outside for mask breaks as long as social distancing remains in place. Students are also allowed to remove their masks while they eat lunch and outside for recess. Again, social distancing will still be required.
In addition to decreasing the amount of in-person students, we have implemented hourly cleaning and disinfecting of "high-touch" areas through out the school. Students will have their own individual work stations and supplies to work with each day. These supplies and workstations will be sanitized at the end of each day. APS facilities has increased our airflow in our ventilation system so more fresh air from outside is filtered into the building.
We have worked hard to put systems in place to ensure the safety of staff and students. While we cannot guarantee that COVID will not show-up at Montview, please know we are following strict guidelines, processes and procedures to mitigate the chance.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
In Gratitude, Heather Stewart
